 There is something beautiful about setting time aside to rewind and reconnect with the foundation of your craft. That is exactly what RUUT Salon Owner & Master Stylist, Maria Ferrer Riggert, and RUUT Master Stylist & Salon Mentor, Jamie Hollis, did this past July. Taking time off from working behind the chair, Maria and Jamie packed their bags and traveled to the West Coast to attend the ABC 5 Day Cutting Coarse at the Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, CA. 

Vidal Sassoon was known internationally as one of the greatest hair cutters of the 20th century. Sassoon was not just recognized for his mastery of formulated geometric systems in hair cutting, but also for his ability to teach those systems philosophically. A journey to the Sassoon Academy, and to receive knowledge from instructors who worked by Sassoon's side and continue his legacy within our industry, is nothing shy of an honor.

The ABC 5 Day Cutting Coarse is not about the latest fads and hairstyle trends. It's about reconnecting with the principles and laws of geometry, shape and balance - all of which are key elements to mastering and perfecting the art of hair cutting.
