Designer, ROSENTHAL TEE, hosted her Spring/Summer 2017 collection at Pier 59 Studios for New York Fashion Week. Her collection embodies femininity, in ready-to-wear pieces that are elegant and sophisticated with peeks of shear material and long-line slits.
For the second season in a row, this talented designer from the Philippines chose the Matthew Curtis North American Hair Team to design and deliver the hairstyles for her runway. Matthew Curtis chose for his North American Team to be co-led and directed by RUUT Salon Master Stylist & Runway Stylist, Jamie Lee Hollis and Freelance Runway & Editorial Stylist Michelle Swiney. Among Matthew's North American Team members were our RUUT Salon Owners, Nicole Brunz Hunt and Maria Ferrer Riggert.
Co-leads, Jamie and Michelle, designed the look to exhibit a clean, fresh, "out of the shower" style, finished in an effortless-appearing, delicate bun. Using Design Essentials Haircare, they demoed and directed the team to execute the look. The first step was to fully saturate the hair with styling foam to achieve a "wet look". Once the hair was saturated, it was then wrapped and roped around the barrel of a large curling iron to set dimensional waves and texture. After the waves were set, the hair was shaped into a low, deconstructed bun, resting gently at the nape of the head. The front pieces near the face were softly directed back towards the bun, still allowing strands to escape and seductively frame the face. The finished look married beautifully with Rosenthal's unique direction of effeminate sophistication and flirtatious elegance.
